About the Artist

Steve Dent is a self taught artist who originates from Pelsall, a village on the edge of the Black Country, and close to the historic city of Lichfield, Staffs.
He moved to Cornwall 20 years ago and now lives on the Gannel River, a tidal estuary between Newquay and Crantock.
Steve paints a wide variety of subjects including The American West from 1800 (The Mountain Men Era) to 1870s(The Plains Indian Wars) - Myths & Legends - Coastal & Tidal River Scenes of Cornwall ( including the beautiful Gannel River Newquay) - Maritime Paintings of the Days of Sail (including The Sea Battles of The American War of Independence) plus historical subjects of his home, Pelsall Village. Steve uses oil paint on stretched canvas to produce his work.
