This is how the land looks today, the wooded hill on the right is the site of the Mine Disaster. In 1872 the hill was clear of trees. The photo is taken looking up Mouse Hill towards Pelsall Hall, with the entrance to Clockmill Avenue on the left. Mouse Hill rises and bends to the right.The Mine was positioned between the top of Mouse Hill and the start of Allens Lane below.
