In 1812 Britain & America were at war again. Many Indian tribes were involved, some fighting for the British others siding with the Americans. The great Shawnee Chief Tecumseh fought with the British and was killed in battle in 1813.It is said that American soldiers peeled off strips of his skin to keep as souvenirs of their feared enemy. As always men who new the land well were much sought after to act as scouts and guides.
